Art Studio Daily Calendars

The Calendars displayed will have the daily craft for the art studio listed. The crafts are available all day in the art studio.

Special Events & Programs

The special events and programs listed are offered on the dates and times listed only. Children must sign up for the program as they are entering Otterville. Spaces are limited for the programs and are excepted on a first come-first serve basis. Pre-Registration & reservations are not accepted. You must be present to register for a program. Announcements for the start of the programs are not made so please be aware of the time and try to arrive promptly in the events room. Group programs are available upon request, 2 day notice is required for all group programs. To schedule a group program call Sandy at (859)491-1441 Monday - Friday 10:00a.m.-2:00p.m.

May 2012

Dora the Explorer Adventure May 1st - 4th. Times: 11:00a.m. & 1:30p.m.

Dora invites you to go on an Otterville Adventure using MAP to help us find our way!!! We will begin with a story followed by preparing our very own backpack friends. Our adventure will begin by reading our map to help us find our way through otterville. **Unfortunatley Dora herself will not be here**

Forest Animals May 7th - 11th Times: 11:00a.m. & 1:30p.m.

Learn about the amazing world of forest animals, we will listen to a story about forest animals, then we will learn all about how they live. We will make a craft about the forest animals to help us learn where they live.

Scribble Art Dreams May 14th - 18th. Times: 11:00a.m. & 1:30p.m.

We will start this program by listening to the story Matthew's Dream by Leo Lionni, next we will make our very own scribble art dream, just like the ones described in the book.

Fairy Tale Adventures May 21st - 25th. Times: 11:00a.m. & 1:30p.m.

Let's dress and act like royalty!! We will begin with a fairy tale story, followed by making our very own crowns just like real prince and princesses wear!! We will be using construction paper, jewels, ribbon, tule, stickers, glue, and more to make our very own crowns!! Come dressed in your best royal attire (optional)

Outdoor Spring Adventures May 28th - 31st. Times: 11:00a.m. & 1:30p.m.

It's Springtime!!! Let's celebrate with a spring time story, followed by making our very own set of binoculars. We will finish up this program by taking a hike on Otterville's very own nature trails to see whats developing this spring outside.

Amazing Animals - May 31st. Time: 12:30p.m.

Come and check out Otterville's live animal exhibit! We will be discussing the live animals we have in Otterville, learning about where they live and what they eat. We will also get to touch some of the animals to see how they feel!!

Tea Party - May 16th Time: 12:30p.m.

Young ladies and gentleman join us for "tea time", come dressed in your best attire as we serve up "tea" and cookies to all who attend. We will be practicing using our proper manners at the table while enjoy great conversation and music with our fellow tea partiers.

Bingo - May 7th. Time: 12:30p.m.

It's an enjoyable game of matching fun for everyone! Be the first to match the pictures on your game card with the bingo callers pictures and win a prize!! All who participate will receive a prize!

Popsicle Party - May 25th, 26th, 27th, & 28th. Times: 12:30p.m. - 2:30p.m.

Join us on Totter's outdoor party patio for a fun filled Popsicle Party!!! Bring friends and family for lots of fun! Popsicles will be provided free to all who enter Otterville. limit 1 popsicle per person per day

Fire Safety at Totter's Otterville - June 4th - 8th. Times: 11:00a.m & 1:30p.m.

Let's learn all about fire safety and prevention!! We will start out with a story,and then we will learn how to Stop, Drop, and Roll! Next, we will get to explore a REAL fire truck and maybe even get to try on some real fireman's gear! Parents bring your cameras - photo ops of children in fire truck will be available

Discovering Dinosaurs - June 11th - 15th. Times: 11:00a.m. & 1:30p.m.

Learn about Stacey, Otterville's own Deinonychus Dinosaur, what she looked like and other dinosaurs looked like. We'll listen to a story dinosaurs, make a dinosaur craft, and finish up by heading outside to see if we can dig up Staceys bones from Otterville's dinosaur dig (optional)!

Summer Party - June 18th - 22nd. Times: 11:00a.m. & 1:30p.m.

Let's end the summer with a bang! In this program we will be playing summer bingo, where everyone is a winner! Next, we will all enjoy a nice tasty ice cream sundae! Bring your swim suit and towel to enjoy the last weekend of fun in Otterville's outdoor water play area before it closes for the season (optional)!

Adventures In Outer Space - June 25th - 29th. Times: 11:00a.m. & 1:30p.m.

We will be learning about the planets, the sun, and the solar system. We will listen to a space story then make a solar system picture complete with all the planets!

Tea Party - June 21st Time: 12:30p.m.

Ice Cream Social - June 5th & 18th. Time: 1:30p.m. - 2:30p.m.

Join us for an old fashioned Ice cream social on Ottervilles' outdoor patio. Ice cream sundaes will be provided to all who attend. Social will be held from 1:30p.m.-2:30p.m. each day outside on Totter's party patio. ***Weather Permitting***

Popsicle Party - June 23rd. Time: 1:30p.m. - 2:30p.m.

It's a Party on the Patio with Popsicles!!! Everyone who attends the popsicle party will receive a free popsicle! **weather permitting** Times: 1:30p.m. - 2:30p.m.

July

Independence Day Celebration - July 2nd - 6th: 11:00a.m. & 1:30p.m.

Let's celebrate our country's Independence Day! We will learn about the American flag, what color it is, how many stars are on it, & how many stripes it has. We will finish up by decorating a patriotic sun visor to take home and wear.

Fish - July 9th - 14th. Times: 11:00a.m & 1:30p.m.

Learn about fish, how they live, what they eat, and how they swim. We'll make an aquarium, have a fishy snack, hear a fish story, and then you can head outside for some fishing fun at Otterville's outdoor magnetic fishing pond if you like.

Stars - July 16th - June 20th. Times: 11:00a.m. & 1:30p.m.

Hear a story and sing a song about stars. We will then make a spectacular, sparkling star to take home and display. We will also get to name our stars just like real scientists do!!

Farm Animals - July 23rd - 27th. Times: 11:00a.m. & 1:30p.m.

In this program we will make a book about farm animals. How many different farm animals do you know? We will sing a song about farm animals and learn what noises the animals make. .

Zoo Fun - July 30th & 31st Times: 11:00a.m. & 1:30p.m.

We will begin by reading the book There's a Strike at the Zoo followed by a craft that is sure to make everyone laugh! Children will be making a lion craft using glue, scissors, and craft materials.

Zoo Fun - July 30th - August 3rd. Times: 11:00a.m. & 1:30p.m.

We will begin by reading the book There's a Strike at the Zoo followed by a craft that is sure to make everyone laugh! Children will be making a lion craft using glue, scissors, and craft materials.

Creepy Crawly BUGS - August 6th - 10th. Times: 11:00a.m. & 1:30p.m.

We will hear a story about the little creatures and learn about the different varieties, next we'll make a craft, and finish up with a treat. We may even get to see some real live bugs!

Under Water Animals - August 13th - 17th. Times: 11:00a.m.; 1:30p.m.; & 2:30p.m.

We will listen to an under the ocean story then we will learn about animals that live in the water. Next, we will make an aquarium while enjoying a fishy snack.

Luau - August 20th - 24th. Times: 11:00a.m. & 1:30p.m.

Join our fun luau! We will be making a lei to wear, then we will dance to music, and play a game! Bring your swim suits for water fun after the event is complete (optional)!

End of Summer Party - August 27th - 31st. Times: 11:00a.m. & 1:30p.m.
